Flagbjarnarholt efra - Icelandic Quality Horses

Dear visitors, welcome to our webpage

The horse breeding farm Flagbjarnarholt is located in the south of Iceland close to the volcano Hekla. We have been breeding horses since 1999 and have been getting about 5 foals every year.

Behind this farm is a big family with great interest in the Icelandic horse.

Bragi and Gerða are the heads of the family. They have 4 children, all grown ups. Pétur is the oldest son and my husband. He is an engineer and we run our own engineering company in Grindavík where we are also living.

My name is Birta and I studied pedagogy with special emphasis on working with young people with problems. Together we have two wonderful sons Ólafur Jóhann and Bragi Valur.

Both of us studied in Denmark and we came home to Iceland in the year 2006.  I have been into horses since I was a little girl and sometimes I have been training good horses with good trainers. I‘ve been to riding courses and in the summer ‘‘08 I was in Hólar the Icelandic riding school for a month at there summer school. Pétur has been around horses with his family since he was 13 years old and has a lot of interest in breeding. We hope you'll enjoy our homepage.

Kind regards.

Birta Ólafsdóttir and Pétur Bragason
