Most of the mares are home.

Now most of the mares in Flagbjarnarholt are home from stallions this summer. Me and Pétur went with 5 mares to stallions and 4 of them are home in foal and getting fat for the winter.

Gjósta frá Laufás is in foal with Krákur frá Blesastađir 1A. A great four gaited stallion that got 8.40 for rideabilities, 8.24 for conformation and in total 8,34 only 4 years old. For that he received second place in stallions four years old on Landsmót 2006. We are very exited about this and think it is a good match.

Hnáta and Tromma booth whent to Sćfari frá Hákot and are home in foal with him. He is big and handsome and very impressive five gaited stallion. We took two mares to him because hi was leaving Iceland to participate in the World Championships in Switzerland this year.

Las weekend we got Hera home from Mjölnir frá Hlemmiskeiđ. A beautiful four years old son of Krákur frá Blesastađir and Blika frá Nýjabć. He received one of the highest score this spring in the breeding shows in Iceland. 8,31 for rideabilitis, 8,53 for conformation and in total 8,40.

Then we still have Kolfinna with Ljóni frá Ketilsstađir a promising fivegatied stallion from the strong breeding line of Ketilsstađir.

Surtsey frá Feti, Svennis mare is also home in foal with Oliver frá Kvistir a son of Aron frá Strandarhöfđa and the half brother of Landsmót winner in 5 years old stallions last year Ómur frá Kvistir. He didn't give his brother anything after and received nothing less than 8.93 for rideabilitis, 8,28 for conformation and in total 8,67. Gyđja is also with him and Harpa is with Vilmundur frá Feti but they haven't been confirmed in foal till now.

The pictures are of Mjölnir frá Hlemmiskeiđi.

Now the last foals are here. The bay pinto got the name Gustur and our older son owns him. He named him Gustur frá Flagbjarnarholti and it is a promising foal with high legation and goes both in tölt and trot. Gustur's dame is Skák frá Flagbjarnarholti and shier is Kraflar frá Ketilsstöđum.

The other on is a daughter of Vilmundur frá Feti and Harpa frá Flagbjarnarholti. Her name is Hrafna frá Flagbjarnarholti and she has very nice movments as well.

The picture on the front paged is of me looking over the felds in Flagbjarnarholti. This group that rides together is always getting bigger and now there where 74 horses and around 30 people on Saturday when we where the most.

It was a great trip with god company, god horses, god weather and beautiful surroundings.

Tromma frá Flagbjarnaholti.

This is a young mare from our breeding called Tromma. Shier is Fáni frá Kálfholti and dame is Ösp frá Enni a daughter of Otur frá Sauđarkróki. I was training her this winter and now lately I have had her on green grass in Grindavik along with Víđir my other riding horse. She is getting better every day and this weekend I'm taking her on a horsetrip around the south.

Sindri frá Flagbjarnarholti

Hnáta a daughter of Máni frá Ketilstöđum got a foal last week. The father is Fróđi frá Stađartungu a great five gaited horse.

Sindri has a light conformation and shows all gaits. Sindri was suppose to be a mare but I didn't get my wish this time. There for I'm going to use Fróđi again and get a mare from him next time. We are happy about Sindri and he got named after an old horse that was my favourite one when I was a child. So Sindri has a lot to live op to in the future.

Hátíđ frá Flagbjarnarholti

Hátiđ also came last week. It's shire is Natan frá Ketilstöđum and dame is Hera frá Götu a daughter of Óđur frá Brún. At first she looked a lot like her mother but when we looked closer we could se that she has higher legs and the neck is better than her mothers was in same age.

Hátid goes around in pace both slow and fast tempo "very fast" with big steps and a lot of movements in the hind legs. I'm never nerves about this movments because when you start training this kind of horses the tölt is high and god, and Hátíđ shows high leg action in the front. The trot usually comes when the foal is strong enough to be able to control it's movements more. The pace you don't have to worry about. The only thing I'm a little unhappy about is the gallop, it is low. Hátiđ is a strong five gaited mare we are happy about.

Skuggi frá Flagbjarnarholti.

Pétur got this handsome black male foal last week. We where lucky that Helga a friend of us so that something's was wrong  and checked it. The foal was laying on it's back stuck in a small rift in the land. It would have died if she wouldn't have helped it on it's feet and to it's mother.

Skuggi is it's name and his shire is Mídas frá Kaldbak and his dame is Kolfinna a daughter of Kolfinnur frá Kjarnholtum. He shows both tölt and trot and he runs in high canter. We are very happy about him and even though Pétur was hoping for a mare this time, he knows he is getting a promising future competition horse.

My birthday is to day and...

last Tuesday I got a foal from Gjósta and Gaumur frá Auđholtshjáleiga. A black mare with a star. We are going to take a look at her tomorrow and I'm very.....very excided. It is not every day you will get a mare like this almost on your birthday. Svenni has also gotten a black male foal, after Surtsey and Ţóroddur frá Ţóroddstöđum.

The pictures are of Rammur frá Flagbjarnarholti our future stallion. He is 3 years old and we took him inside last week to check him out. We are very satisfied with him he sows all gaits with high leg action, wide steeps and a lot of power. He is very lively to be around and you get the feeling that he is an intelligent horse. You can se further information about him here.

Springtime and little lambs.

There is not only on farms in Iceland the lambs are coming now. In Grindavík where we live there are sheep's all around in the town. Everywhere there is a green grass plan there are sheep's with lambs. I love this time in the year and the family whent for a visit to a friend of us that has 16 sheep's. The boys helped with taking the sheep's inside and then we study the lambs.
